The NSS Unit of D.C.T’s Vasantrao Dempo Higher Secondary School Of Arts Science and Commerce was inaugurated at the hands of retd Prof. Godse. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Godse called upon students tomake Goa open defecation free. He highlighted the importance of cleanliness and spoke about the role of NSS.
The welcome address was given by Principal Mrs Rupa Khope. Speaking on the occasion she recalled the wisdom of Swami Vivekananda and called upon students to follow his ideals. Earlier the NSS Programme Officer, Mr Chetan Kavlekar chalked out the NSS activities for the current academic year.
The NSS office bearers of the year are as follows Mr Chetan Kavlekar and Mr Vishal Bhandari as Programme Officers. The following students were inducted as NSS Student Leaders: Mast. Waman Bhandare, Ms. Vishakha Gaonkar, Mast. Kalandar Shaikh, Ms. Alaika Bocarro, Mast. Rishikesh Rathodkar, Ms. Isha Kulkarni, Ms. Simran Verlekar and Mast. Rajas Kolwalkar from Std XI Commerce. Ms. Nikita Signapurkar, Mast. Dhruv Chopdekar, Ms. Dhanika Vengurlekar and Mast. Manish Pai Kakode from Std XI Arts.
The function was compered by NSS Programme Officer, Mr Chetan Kavlekar. A vote of thanks was proposed by Miss. Isha Kulkarni, NSS Student Leader.
