The ‘Annual Academic Prize Distribution function of DCT’S Vasantrao Dempo Higher Secondary School of Arts, Science and Commerce, Cujira Santa Cruz was held in the AV room of the school premises. The Chief Guest of the function was Dr. Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister and Education Minister of Goa. The others present were Chairman of Dempo Charities Trust, Shri. Shrinivas Dempo, Administrator Shri. Rajesh Bhatikar, Principal, Mrs. Rupa Khope, Vice Principal, Mrs. Rekha Gurrala, Guest of Honour Dr. Guruprasad Kapadi, Shri. Lawrence Rodrigues, Sarpanch of St. Cruz Panchayat, and PTA President, Dr. Vineet Bandiwdekar.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said that it is very important to have a humanitarian approach when interacting with people. The Chief Guest quoting Swami Vivekananda said “Arise, Awake and Stop not till the goal is reached”. He urged students to continue to work hard. He also said that Goans should aspire to excel in different competitive exams like the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service etc. Speaking on the occasion Guest of Honour Dr. Guruprasad Kapadi asked students to follow three mantras:- Put joy in learning so that life becomes a celebration, Strive for continuous and constant development to change for the better and Climb the ladder of success with character.
