The people behind ‘Da Capo Sammelan’, the annual festival of international music, Patricia Rozario, Mark Troop and Shrinivas Dempo, have thought of a new thrust to the festival this year. Along with a performance by Patricia accompanied by Mark and a recital by a prestige name in India or abroad, there would be a recital by budding young classical musicians in Goa. The concert would take place at the Dinanath Mangueshkar Auditorium at the Kala Academy, Panaji on the 15th October, 2018.
The Vasantrao Dempo Education & Research Foundation accordingly published a press note on these plans for Goan boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 15 who could sing or play an instrument. They would be auditioned by Patricia and Mark and supervised to present themselves at the concert. The news item appeared in Kuriocity, the Navhind Times supplement, on the 10th August. The response was remarkable. A dozen mails flooded our inbox within a short time! Promising a feast of entertainment at the concert!
