The 71st Independence Day was celebrated with great pomp at D.C.T’s Vasantrao Dempo H.S.S of Science, Commerce and Arts, Cujira, St. Cruz. The Chief Guest for the function was Shri. Siddharth Kuncolienkar, Ex MLA of Panaji constituency and Chairman of Cujira Integrated Educational complex, who unfurled the national flag.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri. Kuncolienkar, called upon the students, to realize Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi’s vision, to build a clean and healthy India. He urged the students to have a traffic sense and value life of others and themselves. He expressed that happiness comes from values and not from wealth.
Earlier, the Principal, Mrs. Rupa Khope gave the welcome address and introduced the Chief guest. She called upon the students to be selfless and perform every role in their lives to their optimum capacity.
Students and teachers from the institute presented an entertainment programme based on the freedom movement.
