Goa’s Woman Grandmaster and Dempo goodwill ambassador Bhakti Kulkarni continued her winning spree by winning International Women Blitz Tournament at Erfurt in Germany.
The recently crowned National Challengers Champion remained unbeaten throughout the gruelling 13 rounds, winning 9 games and drawing 4. Her superlative performance fetched Bhakti whopping 96.4 Elo points.
International Master and WGM Karina Szczepkowska of Poland stood second with 9.5 points while Iranian WGM Atousa Pourkashiyan (8.5) took third prize. Top seeded German Woman Grandmaster Sarah Hoolt had to be satisfied with 4th place.
Bhakti is also competing in the main International Classical Tournament where she is seeded 13th. After the Germany event, Bhakti will next participate in Prague International Open.
