Goa Challengers become first team to defend their UTT title

Goa Challengers cemented their place in Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) history by becoming the first team ever to successfully defend their title, with a dominant 8-2 victory over 2018 champions Dabang Delhi TTC. This remarkable achievement was spearheaded by the stellar performances of Harmeet Desai and Yangzi Liu, who both showcased their prowess in singles before sealing victory in the mixed doubles.

The road to the championship was not easy. Despite narrowly securing a semi-final spot, finishing fourth in the league stages, the Goa Challengers displayed resilience and tenacity. The final match, held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, showed the determination of the team.

The Goa Challengers team consisted of Yangzi Liu, Yashaswini Ghorpade, Sayali Wani, Harmeet Desai, Mihai Bobocica, Sudhanshu Grover. Coaches were Zoltan Batorfi and Subhajit Saha, Team Manager was Ruchira Manerkar, and Sanchi Parikh was the Support staff.

With this milestone, Goa Challengers have once again proven their dominance in the sport, bringing pride to the Dempo Group.
