Goa Carbon Ltd is beginning to see the effect of its endeavour into meaningful social responsibility after appointing Fiinovation, New Delhi, as its resource in leading it to NGOs local to Udaybata, Paradeep Port, Odisha. Fiinovation brought into the picture the People’s Forum, Bhubaneshwar, and the two parties struck up an understanding with Goa Carbon Ltd for projects at Paradeep.
Apart from planning and commencing a project for the good of the ‘basti’ around the Goa Carbon Ltd Plant at Paradeep, the People’s Forum also undertook a small project for the local school, Ghanaghalia UP School, Bhitargarg, Udaybata, Paradeep.
On the 31st October, a team of the People’s Forum, headed by Mr Amrut Kumar Prusty, its Chief Programme Officer, the local councillor, Ms. Sheela Rani Jena, the school head mistress, Mrs. Dipali Nayak and the staff, students, villagers, school secretary, along with Mr. S. K. Mishra, Senior Manager (P & A) and Mr. Bailochan Jena, Associate General Manager (QC), together held a meeting at the school premises to mark the handover by Goa Carbon Ltd of useful items, to the school.
The items, duly received by the Headmistress, Ms. Dipali Naik, are:-
- Bench and Desk – 20 pairs
- Teacher’s Table – 6 nos
- Steel Chair – 10 nos
- Handi – 1 no
- Kunda – 1 no
- Bucket – 2 nos
- Polar Ceiling Fan – 8 nos.
The hand-over was much appreciated by the School Management.
