The Cultural Day of D.C.T’s Vasantrao Dempo H.S.S. of Arts, Science and Commerce, Cujira St. Cruz, was held on 29th September, 2018 in the Audio Visual room of the institution on the theme ‘Retro‘. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mrs. Shakuntala Bharne, eminent Radio Jockey, Newsreader and Classic singer, who inaugurated the Cultural Program by lighting the traditional lamp.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Bharne called upon the students to take up hobbies and pursue them passionately. She lauded the efforts taken up by the Principal, teachers and students to present a meticulous programme. She urged the students to be proud of their roots and love their mother tongue. Earlier, the Guest of Honour, Mrs. Gauri Shaikh, well known Choreographer and dancer, urged the students to set an example in whichever creative field they take up. She urged the students to pursue dancing as it keeps one fit and happy.
Earlier, the Principal, Mrs. Rupa S. Prabhu Khope, gave the welcome address and introduced the dignitaries on the dais.
The students of Std XI and XII presented a variety of entertainment programs such as Skit, Songs, Monologues, Solo and Group dances, on the theme ‘Retro‘.
The General Secretary, Mast. Nikhil Verma, proposed a Vote of thanks, while teacher, Mrs. Lina Gad compered the programme.
