Woman Grandmaster Bhakti Kulkarni won the best woman prize in the Dubai International Open Chess Tournament that concluded in Dubai on Thursday.
Bhakti, the reigning Asian Woman Champion from Margao, scored 5.5 points out of possible 9 rounds. In the last round, she outwitted Deng Tianle of China to claim the best woman prize. Top players from 42 countries had participated in the tournament.
Bhakti is a goodwill ambassador of Goa Carbon Limited.
